Your skirt or dress may be too tight because you have put on weight, bought a size smaller hoping you lose weight, or these may have shrunk in the wash.

AltEm Stitches alters skirts or dresses by letting out seams or darts, loosening the side seams, adding an extra fabric if there is no seam allowance or adding lace/braid inserts

If your dress or skirt is too short AltEm Stitches may lengthen hemlines. Some of the ways we do this are adding ruffles, braids, lace, or extenders to the hems. These give your clothes extra length, fashion updates and increased wearability.

If the dress or skirt is too loose at the waist, AltEm Stitches can taper them by adding a dart or two or adding a waistband.

When the dress or skirt are too long, AltEm Stitches may need to cut out the extra portion and sew the hemline again. Unless the hemline is a feature, the stitches should be invisible on the outside and to achieve this AltEm Stitches may need to hand sew the hem.

When dress straps are too long or short, AltEm Stitches may remake the straps or add adjusting sliders.

If the neckline is too long or wide your dress may gape, be uncomfortable, or expose too much skin. AltEm Stitches offers several solutions, to increase your comfort, improve the garment appearance or protect your modesty.

AltEm Stitches adjusts wrinkles at the back of the waist by taking in the side seam or the centre seam at the waistline and by loosening the seams at the hip.

Tight sleeves can be uncomfortable and irritating, AltEm Stitches may adjust tight sleeves by removing shoulder pads, adjusting the armpit width, letting out seams or adding braiding. If the dress shoulders droop, AltEm Stitches adds shoulder pad to improve the fit of your garments.

If the skirt of a dress looks limp, AltEm Stitches may need to add extra reinforcement such as horsehair braid.
